INGREDIENTS

  • 1 qt. tender okra with 1/2 in. stems
  • 1 tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. bacon drippings
  • Salt to taste

DIRECTIONS

  • Place the okra in a pan with cold water to just cover.
  • Bring to a boil and add the vinegar. Do not stir okra while cooking.
  • Boil until fork tender. Add the drippings and salt to taste.
  • Lift the okra from pan carefully to serve.
