INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kaiser roll
  • 2/3 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Hungarian hot paprika or smoked paprika, optional
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS

  • Soak the kaiser roll in a medium bowl of water for 10 minutes. Drain and squeeze out the excess water from the kaiser roll. Crumble the kaiser roll into a large bowl.
  • Add the ground beef, the ground pork, the onion, the parsley, the egg, the paprika, the salt, and the black pepper to the crumbled roll and mix until well-blended.
  • Shape the mixture into large, flattened patties.
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Fry the burgers in the hot skillet until browned and no longer pink in the center, ensuring they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F, about 5 minutes per side. Serve.
