INGREDIENTS

  • 4 ounces unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 baking potato
  • 1 tsp Lawry's® Seasoned Salt
  • 1 8oz. NY strip steak

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Clean the baking potato using a vegetable brush and running water. Partially dry the potato. Puncture the skin of the potato in several places using the tines of a fork. Sprinkle the potato with salt. Place the potato onto a baking pan. Bake the potato for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  • Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Sprinkle each side of the steak liberally with Seasoned Salt, pressing the salt into the meat. Allow the steak to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • About 15 minutes before the potato is done, place 2 tablespoons of butter into a heavy bottom skillet. Turn the heat under the skillet to medium-high. Melt the butter until the butter stops bubbling and turns a light brown.
  • When the butter is a light brown, add the steak to the buttered skillet. Do not move the steak for 3 minutes. At the end of 3 minutes turn the steak over with tongs, or without piercing the meat. Cook the steak 3 minutes. Turn the steak over and cook for 2 minutes. At this point, start checking the internal temperature of the steak with an instant read thermometer. Turn every 2 minutes until desire temperature is reach. Remove steak to a plate. When the potato has cooked, remove from oven and cut the length of the potato and open the potato. Break loose the meat of the potato. Using a spoon, take butter from the skillet and place into the potato. Add two tablespoons of butter to the potato to melt. Enjoy!!
