INGREDIENTS

  • 8 slider type hamburger buns
  • 8 oz ground beef
  • 2 tsp dried minced onion
  • 4 tsp prepared mustard
  • 16 dill pickle slices
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS

  • Note: The buns should be small dinner type rolls which are 2 to 2 1/2 inches square. Hot dog buns may also be used by squaring the ends of the hot dog buns and then cutting the remaining bun in half forming to buns.
  • Place the dried minced onion into a small bowl of water an soak for at least 15 minutes. While onion soaks, divide the ground beef into 8 - 1 oz portions and form into a small ball. Prepare the patties by flattening each ball of ground beef to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a small straw or other suitable object to poke four holes, in from each corner toward the center of the patties about 3/4 inch, into each patty.
  • Heat a griddle to 350°F. Spread the vegetable oil over the cooking surface. Place the patties onto the griddle. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp onion over each patty. Spread 1/2 tsp mustard over each patty. Place two dill pickle slices on each patty. Place the bottom of a bun on each patty. Place the top of the bun onto the bottom of the bun.
  • Cook patties for about 3 minutes, remove from griddle and close sandwich to enjoy.
