INGREDIENTS

  • 1 navel orange
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 large bunch Swiss chard, thick stems discarded, leaves halved lengthwise and sliced 1/2 in. thick (about 12 cups)
  • 1 15.5-oz can chickpeas, rinsed
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • Kosher salt and pepper
  • 1 1 1/4 lb piece skinless salmon fillet, cut into 4 pieces

DIRECTIONS

  • Heat broiler with oven rack positioned 5 to 6 in. from the heat. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  • Using a peeler, remove 4 strips of orange zest; thinly slice the zest. Squeeze 1 Tbsp orange juice into a small bowl. Stir in the honey and curry powder; set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and orange zest and cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 minute. Add the chard, chickpeas, cayenne, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 cup water and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until the chard is tender, 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, arrange the salmon on the prepared baking sheet. Season with 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper and broil for 2 1/2 minutes. Spoon the honey mixture over the salmon and broil until the fish is opaque throughout, 2 to 3 minutes more. Serve with the chard-chickpea mixture.
