INGREDIENTS

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Dash salt
  • 8 slices raisin bread
  • Confectioners' sugar or pancake syrup

DIRECTIONS

  • If using a griddle set to 350°F or use a heavy skillet on heat set to medium-high. In shallow bowl blend eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and salt. Dip each bread slice in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides.
  • Lightly grease griddle or skillet. Cook bread slices 4 to 6 minutes, or until deep golden brown. Turn after half the time. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar or serve with syrup.
