INGREDIENTS

  • 20 raw oysters
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • oil, for frying

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine all ingredients except the oysters and oil and mix well.
  • Place about 4 inches of oil into a heavy pot and heat to 375°F.
  • Remove the oysters from their container and allow excess liquid to drip off of the oysters. Place the oysters into the flour mixture and toss to coat well.
  • When the oil is at temperature, carefully place the oysters into the oil. Turn heat to high. Gently stir the oysters to prevent them sticking together. Cook for 2 minutes and quickly remove from hot oil - do not over cook. Drain on paper towels. Enjoy.
