INGREDIENTS

  • 2 6 - 8 oz chicken breast
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • all-purpose flour for coating
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 oz honey
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  • Cut each chicken breast diagonally across with cuts about 1/2 inch deep and 3/4 inch apart. Cut breasts again perpendicular to the first cuts 1/2 inch deep and 3/4 inch apart. Season both sides of the breasts with salt and black pepper to taste. Coat each breast well with flour.
  • Place a large skillet over medium high heat. Place 3 tbsp of butter into the hot skillet to melt. Once the butter melts let the butter bubble for about 1 minute. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Reduce the temperature to medium. Cook the breasts until they begin to brown. Flip the breasts over and cook to brown. When both sides of the breasts have browned, remove the breast from the skillet and set aside. Add 1 tbsp butter to the middle of the skillet.
  • Add the garlic to the skillet and move the garlic around to cook for about 1 minute. Add the soy sauce, vinegar honey to the skillet. Stir ingredients to mix well. Return the breasts to the skillet and turn over to coat both sides of the breasts well with the honey mixture.
  • Spoon the honey mixture over the breasts. Flip breasts occasionally and spoon mixture over. Using an instant read thermometer, cook the breast until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove breasts to serving plate and sprinkle with parsley as a garnish.
