INGREDIENTS

  • 1 plain hamburger bun
  • 1/3 lb hamburger meat
  • Dash salt
  • 1 tbl 1,000 Island Dressing
  • 1 slice tomato
  • 1 leaf lettuce
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 slice onion, thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat frying pan over medium heat. Lightly toast the bun. Set aside.
  • Make two hamburger patties, each patty slightly wider than the bun.
  • Lightly salt each patty and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on the first side. Flip the patties and immediately place two slices of cheese on each patty. Continue cooking to desired doneness.
  • Assemble the burger in the following order from the bottom up: bottom bun, dressing, tomato, lettuce, beef patty with cheese, onion slice, beef patty with cheese, top bun. Enjoy!
