INGREDIENTS

  • 4 6 ounce veal cutlets
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup fine dry breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 2 cans (2 1/2 cups) condensed cream of mushroom soup

DIRECTIONS

  • Wipe cutlets dry. Combine egg and water; beat lightly. Dip pieces of meat first in egg mixture, then in breadcrumbs.
  • Brown cutlets on both sides in shortening in a heavy skillet. Pour soup over cutlets; cover and cook slowly for about 30 minutes or until done. Serve on a warm platter. Serves 4.
