  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Eggs
  • Beets, 15 oz can, sliced


  • Boil the eggs and remove shell.
  • Bring all ingredients, except for eggs and beets, to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
  • Reduce heat to low and add beets and beet juice to heat beets through.
  • Pour liquid and beets over eggs and refrigerate.
  • Eggs are pickled after about 4 days.
