INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb 31 - 35 shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • For Sauce:
  • 2 Tbl Franks hot sauce
  • 2 Tbl olive oil
  • 1 Tbl parsley, chopped
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 slice white bread
  • 2 Tbl water
  • For shrimp:
  • 1 Tbl olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced fine
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced thin
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 Tbl butter, cut into 1/4-inch cubes

DIRECTIONS

  • Into the bowl of a food processor place the ingredients for the sauce: hot sauce, olive oil, parsley, paprika, garlic, black pepper, bread and water. Process ingredients until a smooth sauce is formed. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 Tbl olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and saute for 5 minutes or until onions are soft and translucent. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of salt over the onions as they cook.
  • Add 3 cloves garlic, sliced thin. Add wine and reduce the liquid until halved.
  • Add shrimp in a single layer and cook until bottom side is light orange. Add the hot sauce mixture. Turn the shrimp to the other side in a single layer. Add the butter and gently stir the dish until the butter melts. Don't overcook shrimp. Once both sides are orange, remove to serving plate. Serve over rice with the sauce.
