INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound 31/35 shrimp, raw
  • 2 tbl Old Bay® Seasoning

DIRECTIONS

  • Peel shrimp removing head, if still attached, and remaining shell. Holding a shrimp between your thumb and forefinger, use a small sharp knife and make an incision about 1/4 inch deep down the middle of the back of the shrimp from head to tail. You will notice a dark vein running the length of the shrimp. Using running water, wash/pull the vein out and away from the shrimp. Repeat the de-veining process with the remaining shrimp.
  • Bring 2 quarts of water in a large pot to boiling. Once boiling, add the Old Bay® Seasoning and stir to mix well.
  • Once the shrimp are peeled and de-veined, slowly add to pot. Stir shrimp around in pot immediately after all are in the boiling water.
  • Time the shrimp boiling once they are all in the water. Boil for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes - but no more. Longer cooking will make the shrimp tough and less favorful. Once cooked, immediately pour shrimp into a colander and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Place in refrigerator until chilled. Serve.
