INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs. ground beef, 75/25% recommended
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 Tbl prepared horseradish
  • 2 Tbl Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbl garlic, finely diced
  • Dash celery salt
  • Dash black pepper
  • 5 Tbl butter
  • 1 Tbl Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine butter, red pepper flakes and 1 tsp Tabasco sauce in a bowl and mix well. Roll butter mixture into a log using plastic wrap and place in refrigerator.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Take hardened butter log from refrigerator, remove wrap and cut log into discs.
  • Divide hamburger meat into 5 equal portions. Place a disc of the spiced butter into the center of each portion and then roll the meat portions into a ball, keeping the butter in the middle of the meat portion as much as possible.
  • Flatten balls into uniform patties, no more than 1/2 inch thick to ensure proper cooking. Grill to desired doneness or temperature. Serve on toasted buns with favorite accompaniments and condiments, if desired.
