INGREDIENTS

  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sliced celery
  • 2 8oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 cup uncooked regular rice

DIRECTIONS

  • Place oil into skillet over medium high heat. When oil begins to shimmer, add chops to the skillet and brown on both sides. Remove browned chops from skillet and set aside.
  • Add celery to the skillet and saute lightly.
  • Stir remaining ingredients into the skillet, mixing well after each new addition. Add chops. Bring mixture to a boil.
  • Simmer, covered for 30 minutes.
