INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound okra pods
  • 3 Tbl. butter, melted

DIRECTIONS

  • Select whole okra pods which are about 3 inches long to avoid tough pods. Rinse pods under running water to remove dust and dirt.
  • Place the okra pods into a pot which is large enough to avoid overcrowding the pods. Add water to cover the pods.
  • Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring water to a boil. Boil the pods for about ten minutes and begin checking the pods with the tines of a fork to check for tenderness. Once the tines easily insert into the pods remove from heat and drain the pods in a colander.
  • Place drained pods into a large bowl and drizzle the pods with melted butter. Gently toss the pods to coat well with butter. Serve and enjoy!
