INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound ground beef, lean
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 slices bacon, raw and chopped
  • 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 store-bought or prepared pie crust, uncooked
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and bacon until the bacon is crispy and the beef has no pink is left, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the grease from the skillet. Remove the skillet from the stove-top.
  • Add the breadcrumbs, mustard, barbecue, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Place the mixture in the prepared pie crust.
  • Combine the cheese, egg, and milk in a small bowl. Spread this mixture over the meat mixture. Cover the pie crust edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil. Bake uncovered until the pie crust is golden brown and the cheese topping is bubbly and melted, about 15 minutes. Allow it to cool 5 minutes. Serve.
