INGREDIENTS

  • 4 hoagie buns
  • 4 tbsp margarine
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

DIRECTIONS

  • Any crusted bread such as French will work for this recipe. Hoagie buns work well. Heat a griddle or heat bottom skillet to 350°F.
  • Spread margarine liberally on all cut surfaces of the buns.
  • Sprinkle the margarine liberally with granulated garlic/garlic powder. Not garlic salt. Cut the buns diagonally, lengthwise, from top right to lower left.
  • Place the cut buns onto the hot griddle, margarine side down. Cook until the buns are well toasted. If buns have to be cooked in batches, remove toasted buns to a serving platter and cover with a dish towel. Cook remaining buns.
