INGREDIENTS

  • 4 large shallots, chopped
  • 2 Tbls. olive oil
  • 2 Tbls. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbls. dry red wine
  • 1 1/2 tsps. dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 lb. flank steak, trimmed

DIRECTIONS

  • Whisk first 5 ingredients to blend in 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass dish; season with pepper.
  • Add steak and turn to coat.
  • Marinate steak up to 2 hours at room temperature or cover and refrigerate up to 1 day, turning steak occasionally.
  • Preheat broiler. Remove steak from marinade. Broil steak to desired doneness, about 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Transfer steak to platter.
