INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup lemon-lime carbonated beverage
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 lb. sirloin steak, boneless, cut into 1" chunks
  • 1/2 lb. fresh medium mushroom caps
  • 1 pt. cherry tomatoes
  • 2 onions, cut into eighths
  • 2 green peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 small fresh pineapple cut in 1 inch pieces

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine the first 8 ingredients and stir to mix well. Pour this mixture into a large shallow dish.
  • Add the meat to the dish, cover and marinate at least 2 hours in the refrigerator, turning occasionally.
  • Remove meat from marinade, reserving marinade. Alternate meat, vegetables and pineapple on skewers.
  • Grill over medium-hot coals 10 to 15 minutes or until desired degree of doneness, basting frequently with marinade. Yields 4 servings.
