INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (Lawry’s or Morton's)
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 6x10 baking dish with non-stick spray. Dice the pepper and onion into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic.
  • Add the ground beef to a skillet and cook over medium heat, crumbling as it cooks. When meat is browned, place into a colander and drain. Set aside.
  • Add the pepper and onion to the skillet and cook on medium heat until vegetables are soft. Add the garlic and seasoned salt and stir to mix well. Return the meat to the skillet and stir all to mix well.
  • Place the eggs, cream, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce into a bowl and whisk to mix well. Place the meat mixture into baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the meat mixture and tilt the baking dish to distribute the egg mixture throughout the meat mixture. Place the cheese slices on top of the meat mixture to cover all. Place the casserole into the oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the eggs are set. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
