INGREDIENTS

  • 6 pounds pork spareribs
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cut the ribs into serving-sized pieces. Place the ribs, meat side up, on racks in 2 greased 9x13-inch baking pans. Cover the pans tightly with foil. Bake the ribs until tender and cooked to 145 degrees F, about 1 hour 15 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, white vinegar, honey, soy sauce, ground ginger, salt, ground mustard, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Baste the sauce mixture over the ribs.
  • Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, until the sauce coats and clings to the ribs, basting occasionally, about 30-40 minutes. The ribs are done with an internal temperature of 195°F to 203°F. The ribs can also be grilled over medium-hot heat for the last 30-40 minutes instead of baking. Serve.
