  • 3 to 5 pound Boston butt pork roast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbl. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbl. paprika
  • 1 tsp. ground sage
  • 1 tsp. ground thyme
  • Olive oil cooking spray


  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Use paper towels to dry the outside of the roast. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine all spices and mix well. Rub all parts of the roast with the spice mixture.
  • Spray the all parts of the roast with the cooking spray. Place roast onto the baking sheet.
  • Place the roast onto the middle rack of the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375°F. Bake the roast for 25 minutes per pound. Check the internal temperature of the roast with a thermometer and remove from the oven when the internal temperature of the roast is 155°F. Top the roast with aluminum foil and rest the roast for 20 minutes before serving.
