INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. 75/25 ground beef
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • condiments of choice

DIRECTIONS

  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, fish sauce, garlic cloves, sugar, and black pepper and mix well to combine. Divide ground beef into 4 4oz portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Press each ball flat to form 4 flat patties about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Butter top and bottom cut edges of each bun. Sprinkle each top and bottom with 1/4 tsp granulated garlic. Turn flat non-stick griddle to 350°F., or heat a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat.
  • Place the hamburger patties onto the hot griddle or into the skillet. Move the patties slightly to prevent any sticking. Cook the patties for 2 minutes. Flip the patties over and using a large spatula, mash each patty flat and back to it's initial shape; cook for 2 minutes. Flip the patties over and cook for 2 more minutes. Using an instant read thermometer verify that the patties are at 165°F. If not at temperature, flip the patties and monitor the temperature to reach 165°F.
  • When temperature is reach, remove the patties to a plate and set aside. Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle or in the skillet. Place a hamburger patty onto the bottom of a bun, add lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and other desired condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard.
