Sataras Recipe is a Serbian dish using beef, lamb and pork for stew, butter, onion, green pepper, garlic, paprika, cumin, tomatoes and sour cream served over rice in this tasty stew recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
1/2 pound beef for stew (1- to
1 1/2-inch cubes)
|
1/2 pound lamb for stew (1- to
1 1/2-inch cubes)
|
1/2 pound pork for stew (1- to
1 1/2-inch cubes)
|
2 tablespoons butter or
margarine
|
3 onions, peeled and chopped
|
4 chopped green peppers (seedy centers discarded), cut in pieces
|
1 clove garlic, crushed
|
1 tablespoon paprika
|
1 teaspoon salt
|
1 teaspoon cumin seed, crushed
|
1 cup water
|
3 medium tomatoes, peeled and cut in pieces
|
1 cup sour cream
|
|
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Brown meat on all sides in butter in a skillet. Add onion, green pepper, garlic, and paprika; stir. Cook 3 or 4 minutes. Turn contents of skillet into an electric cooker. Sprinkle salt and cumin. Add water to skillet; heat and stir to loosen browned particles. Pour into cooker; stir. Cover and cook on Low 8 to 10 hours.

Add tomato and sour cream to stew; mix.

Cover and cook on High 30 minutes.

Serve hot with fluffy hot rice and fresh vegetable salad.
