Cornbread Recipe uses eggs, buttermilk, shortening, salt, cornmeal, baking powder and baking soda to create this simple but excellent bread which makes tasty dressing or stuffing.

INGREDIENTS
|
2 eggs
|
2 cups buttermilk
|
3 tablespoons shortening,
melted
|
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
|
2 1/2 cups cornmeal
|
1 teaspoon baking powder
|
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Beat eggs until light. Add buttermilk and melted shortening; mix well.

Mix dry ingredients together. Add to egg mixture; beat until smooth. Pour into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.

Bake at 375°F about 25 minutes. Serve hot.
