Southern Praline Pecan Cake Recipe makes a cake with sugar, butter, flour, whipping cream, eggs and vanilla then tops with praline of sugar, butter, evaporated milk, confectioner's sugar and pecans to make this tasty pecan cake recipe.

INGREDIENTS

All Ingredients At Room Temperature:

3 1/2 cups granulated sugar
|
3 sticks softened butter
|
3 cups cake flour
|
8-10 ounces heavy whipping cream
|
6 eggs
|
1 teaspoon vanilla
|
1/3 teaspoon salt
|
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
|
For Praline:
|
2 cups of firmly packed light brown sugar
|
1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter
|
1/3 cup evaporated milk
|
1/3 cup of sifted confectioners sugar
|
2 cups of chopped pecans, toasted
|
2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
|

DIRECTIONS

Cream butter and sugar in a mixer. Add 1 egg at a time. Add flour and cream, alternating between the two. Add baking powder. Add salt. Add vanilla. Pour in greased and floured bundt pan.

Put in cold oven, middle rack. Turn oven to 350 and bake for 1 hour and remove. Do NOT let it cool completely in the pan! I made that mistake once! Wouldn't come out.

For Praline: In a heavy saucepan, stir the brown sugar, butter, and half and half over moderate heat for 5 minutes or until the mixture comes to a full boil.

Boil for 3 minutes, then remove from the heat and stir in the confectioners sugar, pecans, and vanilla. Immediately drizzle over pound cake.
