Scandinavian Meatballs Recipe combines ground beef and pork with egg, milk, bread crumbs, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and onion before cooking then creating a tasty sauce with butter and flour to create this wonder meatball recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
1 egg
|
1 1/2 cups milk
|
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
|
1 teaspoon each salt and sugar
|
1/4 teaspoon each ground ginger, nutmeg, and allspice
|
1 pound ground lean beef
|
1/2 pound ground pork
|
1 small onion, finely chopped
|
1/4 cup butter or margarine
|
1 tablespoon flour
|
Chopped parsley, for garnish
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
In a large bowl beat egg with 1/2 cup of the milk. Blend in bread crumbs, salt, sugar, and spices. Thoroughly mix in ground meats and
onion. Shape into meatballs about the size of walnuts.

In a large, heavy frying pan, brown meatballs well in heated butter or margarine. As they brown, remove them to a heated dish in a 250° F. oven to keep warm.

Pour off all but about 1 tablespoon of the fat. Cook flour in same pan, stirring, until bubbly and lightly browned. Gradually mix in the remaining 1 cup milk, cooking
until thickened and smooth. Salt to taste. Return meatballs to pan, cover, and simmer 15 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley.
