Lemon Grass and Ginger Pork Burgers Recipe uses ground pork, fresh root ginger, lemon grass and salt and black pepper to make patties which are fried in sunflower oil served on buns along with sliced tomatoes, lettuce leaves and chili sauce.

INGREDIENTS
|
1 lb ground pork
|
1 tbsp grated fresh root ginger
|
1 lemon grass stalk, outer layers discarded and center part chopped finely
|
2 tbsp sunflower oil
|
salt and ground black pepper
|
To serve:
|
juicy tomatoes, thickly sliced
|
crisp lettuce leaves
|
chilli sauce
|
|
|
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Put the pork in a bowl and stir in the ginger and chopped lemon grass. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into four burgers and chill for about 20 minutes.

Heat the oil in a large, non-stick frying pan and add the burgers. Fry for 3 to 4 minutes on each side over a gentle heat, until cooked through. Remove from the pan with a metal spatula and drain on kitchen paper, then serve with sliced tomato, lettuce and chilli sauce.

Cook's Tip: Chilling the burgers helps them to maintain their shape.
