Pork and Apple Chop Suey

Pork and Apple Chop Suey is a marvelously tasty variation on this great dish using pork, butter, onions, Ac'cent, celery, apples, soy sauce, cornstarch and cooked rice to create this tasty chop suey recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
1 lb. boneless pork
|
1/4 C fat, butter, margarine or vegetable oil
|
3 medium sized onions
|
1 1/2 Cups water
|
1 No.2 can bean sprouts
|
1 t Ac´cent
|
2 Cups slivered celery
|
2 tart apples, thinly sliced
|
Soy sauce to taste
|
3 T cornstarch
|
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Cut pork in narrow strips about 2 inches long. Brown in hot fat; remove. Add onions; brown slightly.

Return pork to frying pan; add water, liquid from bean sprouts, and Ac´cent. Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
|

3:
Add celery and apples; cook 10 minutes longer. Add soy sauce if desired.

Dissolve cornstarch in little cold water; add stirring constantly until thickened. Add bean sprouts: bring to boiling point. Served with hot cooked rice. Serves 6.
