Braised Fresh Black-eyed Peas Recipe uses butter, garlic powder, onion and chicken bouillon powder in creating this very tasty black-eyed pea recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
2 cups fresh black-eyed peas
|
2 tbsp unsalted butter
|
1/2 medium onion, chopped
|
1/2 tsp garlic powder
|
1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
|
Water for braising
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until the onion is soft.

Add the peas to pan. Add 1 cup of water and stir all to mix well. Turn heat to high and bring to a boil. Once at a boil, reduce heat to bring the liquid to a low simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes adding water as necessary.

Check peas occasionally to determine how tender the peas have become. Continue cooking, adding water as necessary, until the peas are of desired tenderness.

Once peas are tender, add the garlic powder and bouillon to the pan. Stir all to mix well. Cook for at least 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has cooked from the dish. Serve and enjoy.
