Pickled Seckel Pears Recipe uses Seckel pears, the smallest commercially grown pears, to make a very nice pickled dish which makes a great side dish or snack using vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, allspice, gingerroot and pears.

INGREDIENTS
|
1 pint vinegar
|
3 1/2 lb. sugar
|
1 tablespoon cinnamon
|
1 tablespoon allspice
|
1 tablespoon cloves
|
1 oz. gingerroot
|
7 lb. Seckel pears
|
|
|

|
|
|
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Combine vinegar, 2 cups water and sugar in a large kettle. Tie cinnamon, allspice, cloves and gingerroot in a bag; add to vinegar mixture. Boil mixture for 5 minutes.

Cut peeling from pears, leaving on stems. Add
pears, a few at a time, to syrup; cook until tender and clear.

Place pears in hot, sterilized jars. Pour in syrup to cover and seal.
