Onions in Wine Recipe uses butter, onions, thyme, sugar, lemon juice, flour, white wine and parsley in creating this delicious onion side dish.


INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 oz butter
1 1/2 lb onions, sliced
salt, pepper, dried thyme
sugar
juice 1/2 lemon
2 tablespoons flour
8 fl oz white wine
1 teaspoon chopped parsley


DIRECTIONS
1: Melt the butter in a pan and fry the onions for 10 minutes, until golden. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, sugar and the lemon juice.
 
2: Sprinkle on the flour and fry for 2 minutes, stirring carefully. Pour the wine into the pan, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes.
 
3: Transfer the onions to a warmed dish, sprinkle on the parsley and serve.
