Swiss Steak Mozzarella Recipe uses round steak, flour, butter, tomatoes, salt, basil, bell pepper and mozzarella cheese to create this attract and very tasty Swiss steak recipe.


INGREDIENTS
2 lbs. beef round steak, 1/2 inch thick
3 Tbl. flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes, cut up
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. basil
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) mozzarella cheese


DIRECTIONS
1: Cut meat into serving size pieces; coat with flour.
 
2: Melt butter in a skillet. Brown meat slowly on both sides. Put into a 12 x 8-inch baking dish.
 
3: Combine tomatoes, salt, basil, and green pepper. Pour over meat.
 
4: Bake, covered, at 350°F 1 hour, or until meat is tender. Remove cover. Sprinkle with cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted. 8 servings.
