Swiss Steak Mozzarella Recipe

Swiss Steak Mozzarella Recipe uses round steak, flour, butter, tomatoes, salt, basil, bell pepper and mozzarella cheese to create this attract and very tasty Swiss steak recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
2 lbs. beef round steak, 1/2 inch thick
|
3 Tbl. flour
|
1/2 cup butter or margarine
|
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes, cut up
|
1 1/4 tsp. salt
|
1/4 tsp. basil
|
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
|
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) mozzarella cheese
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Cut meat into serving size pieces; coat with flour.

Melt butter in a skillet. Brown meat slowly on both sides. Put into a 12 x 8-inch baking dish.

Combine tomatoes, salt, basil, and green pepper. Pour over meat.

Bake, covered, at 350°F 1 hour, or until meat is tender. Remove cover. Sprinkle with cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted. 8 servings.
