Strawberry Ripple Tea Cake Recipe makes a batter with flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, egg, milk and butter then marbles with strawberry jam before topping with cinnamon streusel topping to create this delicious cake recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
1 1/2 cups flour
|
1/3 cup sugar
|
2 teaspoons baking powder
|
1/2 teaspoon salt
|
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
|
1 egg
|
2/3 cup milk
|
1/4 cup butter or margarine
(melted and cooled) or salad oil
|
1/2 cup strawberry jam
|
For Cinnamon Streusel Topping:
|
1/4 cup flour
|
1/3 cup sugar
|
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
|
3 tablespoons cold butter or margarine
|
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Preheat oven to 375° F. In a large
bowl stir together flour, sugar, baking
powder, salt, and nutmeg. In a medium bowl beat egg with
milk and melted butter. Add egg
mixture to flour mixture, stirring until
mixture is smooth.

Spread batter in a greased 8-inch
springform pan. Spoon jam evenly
over batter. Draw a knife through
batter in several back-and-forth
strokes to marble jam through
it. Sprinkle evenly with Cinnamon
Streusel Topping.

Bake until topping is well browned
and wooden skewer inserted in
center comes out clean (40 to 45
minutes).

Let stand about 5 minutes, then
remove pan sides, cut into wedges,
and serve warm or at room
temperature.
