Crockpot Sweet and Sour Pork Recipe creates a delicious flavor contrast using pork shoulder, green pepper, onion, carrots, sweet pickles, brown sugar, cornstarch, pineapple juice, cider vinegar, soy sauce and pineapple chunks.

INGREDIENTS
|
2 lbs. pork shoulder, cut in strips
|
1 green pepper, cut in strips
|
half a medium onion, thinly sliced
|
3/4 cup shredded carrots
|
2 Tbsp. coarsely chopped sweet pickles
|
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
|
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
|
1/4 cup water
|
1 cup pineapple syrup (reserved from pineapple chunks)
|
1/4 cup cider vinegar
|
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
|
2 cups pineapple chunks
|
|
|

DIRECTIONS

Place pork strips in slow cooker. Add green pepper, onion, carrots, and pickles.

In bowl, mix together brown sugar and cornstarch. Add water, pineapple syrup, vinegar, and soy sauce. Stir until smooth.

Pour over ingredients in slow cooker.

Cover. Cook on Low 5-7 hours. One hour before serving, add pineapple chunks. Stir. Serving suggestion: Serve over buttered noodles with an additional dash of vinegar or garlic to taste.
