Crockpot Sweet and Sour Pork

Crockpot Sweet and Sour Pork Recipe creates a delicious flavor contrast using pork shoulder, green pepper, onion, carrots, sweet pickles, brown sugar, cornstarch, pineapple juice, cider vinegar, soy sauce and pineapple chunks.


INGREDIENTS
2 lbs. pork shoulder, cut in strips
1 green pepper, cut in strips
half a medium onion, thinly sliced
3/4 cup shredded carrots
2 Tbsp. coarsely chopped sweet pickles
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 cup pineapple syrup (reserved from pineapple chunks)
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 cups pineapple chunks


DIRECTIONS
1: Place pork strips in slow cooker. Add green pepper, onion, carrots, and pickles.
 
2: In bowl, mix together brown sugar and cornstarch. Add water, pineapple syrup, vinegar, and soy sauce. Stir until smooth.
 
3: Pour over ingredients in slow cooker.
 
4: Cover. Cook on Low 5-7 hours. One hour before serving, add pineapple chunks. Stir. Serving suggestion: Serve over buttered noodles with an additional dash of vinegar or garlic to taste.
