Tomato and Green Chile Sauce Recipe is a sauce that is good in just about anything, even a topping for a Mexican pizza and uses tomatoes, olive oil, oregano, garlic and green chiles to make this tasty sauce recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
3 medium tomatoes (about
1 pound)
|
2 tablespoons olive oil
|
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
|
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
|
1/4 teaspoon salt
|
1 can (4 oz) diced green chiles
|

DIRECTIONS
|

Pour boiling water over tomatoes to
loosen skins; peel, and chop finely.
|

Heat oil in a 2-quart saucepan over
medium heat. Add tomatoes, oregano,
garlic, salt, and green chiles. Bring to
a boil, cover, reduce heat, and
simmer for 15 minutes. Uncover and
cook over medium-high heat, stirring
often as sauce begins to thicken,
until sauce is thick and reduced to
about 1 cup (15 to 20 minutes).
