by:
Marilyn Breidling
Delicious Orange Biscuits Recipe creates unique biscuits which are delicious and tasty using flour, soda, salt, shortening, orange, unsweetened chocolate and buttermilk.
INGREDIENTS
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
Grated rind of 1 orange
1 sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated
1 1/2 c. (about) buttermilk
DIRECTIONS
Sift the flour, soda and salt together into a bowl. Cut in the shortening until mixture is consistency of cornmeal. Add the grated rind and chocolate and stir in enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Place on a floured board and knead lightly. Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut with a floured biscuit cutter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 475 degrees for about 15 minutes.
