Cebolla en Lima Onions in Lime Juice

Cebolla en Lima Onions in Lime Juice Recipe is a version of Mexican pickled onions dish containing red onions, lime juice and cilantro which creates a tasty condiment.


INGREDIENTS
1 large red onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
Juice from 3 fresh limes
1 tablespoon cilantro leaves or pinch dried oregano


DIRECTIONS
1: In a glass bowl place onions in lime juice and stir in cilantro.
 
2: Cover, refrigerate, and allow to marinate for 3 hours or longer. They will keep several weeks in the refrigerator. Serve as a garnish or condiment or add to a green salad.
