Wheat Dough for Tortas

Wheat Dough for Tortas Recipe makes a tasty dough that works great in baking tortas using yeast, honey, all-purpose flour, eggs, wheat flour, butter or margarine in creating this delicious torta dough recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
1 package active dry yeast
|
1/4 cup warm (110° to 115° F)
water
|
1 tablespoon honey
|
1/2 teaspoon salt
|
1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose
flour
|
2 eggs
|
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
|
1/2 cup butter or margarine,
softened
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Sprinkle yeast over warm water in
large bowl of electric mixer; add
honey. Let stand until yeast is soft
(about 5 minutes). Mix in salt and 1/2
cup of the unbleached flour. Beat at
medium speed until elastic (about
3 minutes).

Beat in eggs, one at a time, until
smooth. Gradually beat in whole
wheat flour and remaining 1 cup
unbleached flour to make a soft
dough. Beat in butter, a tablespoon at
a time, beating well after each
addition.

Place dough in a greased bowl,
cover, and let rise in a warm place
until doubled in bulk (1 to 1 1/2
hours). Stir dough down, cover, and
let rest for 10 minutes.
