Pita Pizza

Pita Pizza Recipe makes a simple, easy, yet very tasty pizza using pita breads and pasta sauce topped with toppings such as mozzarella cheese, oregano, red onions, mushrooms, jalapeno, olives and capers to create this tasty pizza recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
4 pita breads, preferably whole-wheat
|
Small jar of pasta sauce
|
8 ounces mozarella cheese, sliced
or grated
|
Dried oregano or thyme, to sprinkle
|
salt and freshly ground black pepper
|
1 small red onion, thinly sliced and
lightly fried
|
Mushrooms, sliced and fried
|
1 can (7 ounces) corn, drained
jalapeno chilies, sliced
|
Black or green olives, pitted and sliced
|
Capers, drained
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
Prepare two or three toppings of your
choice for the pizzas. Preheat the broiler and lightly toast the
pita breads on each side.

Spread pasta sauce on each pita, right
to the edge. This prevents the edges of
the pita from burning.
|
|
3:
Arrange cheese slices or grated cheese
on top of each pita and sprinkle with
herbs and seasoning.
|

4:
Add the toppings of your choice
and then broil the pizzas for 5-8 min
until they are golden brown and bubbly.
Serve immediately.
