DIRECTIONS
1:
Preheat the grill to medium heat. Drain the sliced pineapples, reserving 1/4 cup of the pineapple juice.
In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, the onions, the red pepper, the soy sauce, the salt, and the reserved pineapple juice.
2:
Crumble the ground turkey over the breadcrumb mixture and mix lightly, but thoroughly. Shape the turkey mixture into four patties. Using the olive oil, lightly brush the grill racks.
3:
Grill the turkey patties, covered, for 3 minutes on each side. Brush the turkey patties with 1 tablespoon of the teriyaki sauce. Grill the turkey patties until a thermometer inserted into the center reads at least 165 degrees F and the juices run clear, about 4-6 minutes on each side.
4:
Grill the pineapple slices for 2 minutes on each side, basting them occasionally with the remaining teriyaki sauce. Place the buns on the grill and heat until warm. Place the burgers onto the buns, top with the grilled pineapple slices, and serve.
