Roasted Chestnuts

Roasted Chestnuts Appetizer Recipe lightly coats chestnuts with olive oil then roasts them in a lidded casserole with a touch of water to create a this very tasty roasted chestnut recipe.


INGREDIENTS
2 dozen chestnuts
Olive oil
2 tablespoons water


DIRECTIONS
1: Preheat oven to 425° F. With a small, sharp knife, cut a cross in the flat side of each chestnut. Place chestnuts in a casserole with a tight fitting lid; add a few drops of oil and swirl the dish to coat each nut lightly. Add water and cover.
 
2: Bake until chestnuts feel tender when squeezed and peel easily, about 25 to 30 minutes. Remove to a napkin-lined basket or serve from the casserole.
