Stuffed Onions

Barbecued Stuffed Onions Recipe hollows out large mild onions then stuffs them with ground beef, mushroom gravy mix, bread crumbs, milk, egg, sage and pepper to make this very tasty grilled stuffed onion recipe.


INGREDIENTS
4 large mild onions
Salt
1 pound ground beef
1 envelope Mushroom Gravy Mix
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon Ground Sage
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
Chopped parsley or parsley flakes


DIRECTIONS
1: Peel onions and cut in half crosswise; remove centers leaving shells about 1/2 inch thick. Lightly sprinkle with salt. Chop enough of the onion centers to make 1/2 cup. Combine with remaining ingredients except parsley. Fill each onion half with ground beef mixture.
 
2: Wrap in heavy-duty aluminum foil sealing edges with double folds.
 
3: Grill over medium-low coals 35 to 45 minutes. Just before serving, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
