Pennsylvania Dutch Stuffing

Pennsylvania Dutch Stuffing Recipe is stuffing made with potatoes which is a great option to the traditional bread stuffing using celery, butter, milk, parsley, saffron and eggs to create this deliciously tasty stuffing recipe.


INGREDIENTS
6 medium potatoes
1 medium onion
3 slices bread
1/2 cup diced celery
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 1/2 cup warm milk
2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons minced parsley
1/4 teaspoon saffron
2 eggs, well beaten


DIRECTIONS
1: Pare and cut up potatoes; boil in water until soft. Chop onion; cut bread into cubes. Saute onion, celery, and bread cubes in melted butter.
 
2: Drain and mash potatoes. Add onion, celery, bread cubes, warm milk, salt, pepper, minced parsley and saffron; beat well.
 
3: Add eggs and blend thoroughly. Turn into a greased casserole.
 
4: Bake for 1 hour at 350°F. Serve immediately as accompaniment to meat or poultry.
