White Sauce

White Sauce Recipe is a very tasty and simple sauce to serve with vegetables, yet it is an easy sauce using butter, flour, salt, pepper and milk in creating this tasty white sauce recipe.

INGREDIENTS
|
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
|
2 tablespoons flour
|
1/2 teaspoon salt
|
Dash of pepper
|
1 cup milk
|

DIRECTIONS
|
1:
In a 2-cup microwave proof measuring cup, measure and melt butter for 30 seconds.

Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook for 30 seconds.
|

Gradually stir in milk. Cook, uncovered, for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally
during last half of cooking time. Remove and stir briskly.

4:
Variations: For a thick white sauce use 3 tablespoons butter and 3 tablespoons flour with 1 cup milk. For a thin white sauce use 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon flour.
